 Early Stratford Days

Canada ..we're here at last

The goodbyes and Johns house time in the past

We adjust again to a different day

We're learning to live in another way

We go to the store now and not to the shop

We cycle on the right , we cycle till we drop.

We walk on the sidewalk..we eat "old cheese"

We learn what to wear so our blood wont freeze.

We making new friends and enjoying it all

The colours of the walls are the colours of the Fall

All the products we buy are in French and "Anglais"

The people say "hoose".. and "aboot".. and then.. "eh"

Some people here just don't lock their doors

It feels so much safer than ever before

We feel so blessed in so many ways

We are really liking our " Stratford days"

The colours of the leaves

Must be seen to be believed

Our eyes were overwhelmed by the colours of the trees

We spent an afternoon of ecstasy just gazing away

Amazing, mind blowing ...what a beautiful day.

We have snapped our camera at everything

Now we're settling more and there's less "touristing"

But it still all feels fresh and exciting and new

With new faces to greet and unknown things to do

The uncomfortable unfamiliarity is calming down.

We starting to feel like this is our town

We settling in, we 're ready to stay......

But who knows what will happen a year from today ........

Until then its maple doughnuts and coffee all the way!!
